Daily Dancing with the Stars for Colombia
Colombian broadcaster RCN has ordered a local version of international format hit Dancing with the Stars, and will strip the dancing competition series through the week, marking the first time the format has been shown in this way in Latin America.
RCN has acquired the format from BBC Worldwide, and Fox Telecolombia will make the local version.
The 55-episode, one-hour, show will commence its daily run this week in an 8pm slot.
Patrick Delmas and Taliana Vargas will front the RCN version, which will go out as Bailando con las Estrellas. Local stars in the first season include model Natalia Paris, actresses Flora Martinez and Endry Cardeño.
The BBC Worldwide format has now been adapted in over 50 countries.
“Few dance formats have attained the audience levels or popularity that have made Dancing with the Stars a classic in this genre at the global level,” said Anna Gordon, executive VP and managing director, BBC Worldwide Latin America/US Hispanic.
“We are confident that RCN Colombia’s Bailando con las Estrellas will gain the series new fans in this rapidly growing market.”
