Presto, Telstra get new chiefs
Australian telco Telstra has hired a new boss for its media content arm, while Foxtel-affiliated SVOD service Presto Entertainment has a new CEO.
Telstra, which owns local pay TV leader Foxtel along with News Corp, has appointed Optus executive as executive director for Telstra Media.
This comes after Telstra’s CMO, Joe Pollard, restructured the firm’s media business, saying goodbye to digital media and content director Adam Good, IPTV head Eric Kearley and Telstra Television managing director Ian Davis.
Over at Presto, which Telstra indirectly has part-ownership of through its 50% stake in Foxtel, Shaun James has been confirmed as CEO.
Brendan Moo has also been named head of content and acquisitions. He had previously been general manager of entertainment channels at Foxtel.
Presto Entertainment is part of Foxtel’s subscription on-demand joint venture with Seven West Media.
A report last month suggested Telstra was weighing a sale of its stake in Foxtel.
