Eccho sells Turkish series into Lat Am
Eccho Rights has struck two deals for its Turkish drama series Karadayi in Latin America.
Mega in Chile and Telefe in Argentina have bought the series, which comes from Turkey’s leading drama producer Ay Yapim, the prodco behind Ezel and Fatmagül.
The same pair of broadcasters bought Ezel, also distributed by Eccho, earlier this year.
Barbora Susterova, sales and acquisitions director, Latin America and Iberia at Eccho Rights, said: “Over the past year the demand for Turkish drama has really taken off in Latin America. The mixture of strong characters and engaging storylines appeals to the local audience and there are many similarities to the traditional telenovela format.”
Karadayi follows Mahir whose father ends up in jail for a murder he did not commit. He sets out to find the real killer, drawing his family into a crime war.
