Objective recruits new execs
All3Media-owned UK prodco Objective has hired two programming execs.
It has recruited Joe McVey (pictured) from Comedy Central to work in its comedy development team. Prior to a 16-month stint in a commissioning role at Comedy Central, he worked at prodcos including Roughcut, Tiger Aspect and Monkey Kingdom.
Objective has also hired Kelly McGolpin who joins from indie prodco Retort. Prior to that she was at the BBC and indie prodcos including Avalon and Eyeworks.
McGolpin and McVey join existing producer Charlotte Lewis at the comedy label and they all report to Objective CEO, Layla Smith. The comedy label will be headed by Smith in the interim until a new label head is appointed.
Smith said: “Joe and Kelly are both talented, passionate and inspiring. Objective has a formidable reputation when it comes to ground breaking comedy and we look forward to working with them on talent-driven, fresh, innovative ideas.”
There have been a raft of changes at Objective in recent months with several senior staff leaving to create their own prodcos.
Andrew Newman said in July he was leaving, prompting Layla Smith to be brought in as CEO. Newman followed Andrew O’Connor, Paul Sandler, Matt Crook and Adam Adler out of the door, with the latter group exiting to who launch new ITVS label Cats on the Roof Media.
