Kingdom among new dramas on Sky Germany
The AXN channel in Germany has picked up Kingdom, the Endemol Shine-distributed MMA drama.
The show was originally made as an original for US pay TV platform DirecTV.
Sony’s AXN is carried on the Sky pay TV platform in Germany. Sky will preview the show on its Sky Go on-demand service a week ahead of the linear launch.
AXN has acquired the first season of Kingdom and the upcoming second run. Season two will launch on AXN later in October, 24 hours after its TX on DirecTV in the US.
Set in California, follows an MMA legend (Frank Grillo) that runs a gym along with his sons, the youngest (Nick Jonas) a prize-fighter and the the elder a trouble soul (Jonathan Tucker).
Sky also said it will launch the second season of US period medical drama The Knick on Sky Atlantic from December 8 in tandem with the season two launch on Cinemax in the US.
It has also acquired All3Media-distributed UK drama The Missing. The child abduction drama played on BBC in the UK.
