Sky, Movistar acquire The Returned
A host of international broadcasters and platforms, including Sky in Italy and Movistar in Spain, have acquired the upcoming second season of The Returned.
The second season of the hit drama launches on Canal+ in France at the end of the month.
Zodiak Rights sells it internationally and has already inked presales with SundanceTV in the US and Channel 4 in the UK, both of which carried the first run of the show, about a group of undead villagers who mysteriously come back to their home.
Sky Italia and Movistar in Spain will all launch the show soon after its bow on Canal+. Elsewhere, VRT and Telenet have bought the series in Belgium, SVT has taken it in Sweden, YLE in Finland and NRK in Norway.
Further afield, mView has it in Saudi Arabia and ARTV bought it for French-speaking Canada. In Latin America, HBO has bought the series and pubcaster SBS has picked it up in Australia.
Vivendi’s StudioCanal has distribution rights for German-speaking Europe.
Further afield the eerie drama has been picked up by Rialto Channel in New Zealand, VSTV for K+ in Vietnam and HBO Latin America.
