Comedy Central UK buys NBC comedy

Pay TV channel Comedy Central UK has acquired NBC multi-cam comedy Undateable, just days after it renewed high-rating sitcom Friends.

Comedy Central’s latest deal wit Friends distributor Warner Bros. International Television Distribution comprises all seasons of Undateable, including the upcoming third.

Undateable, from Warner Bros. Television and Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, follows a carefree 30-year-old man who’s terrified of settling down despite most of his friends getting married.

The deal, first reported by UK trade Broadcast, is supplement by another with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution for animated comedy Bob’s Burgers and all seven seasons of Malcolm in the Middle, which has previous run in the UK on satcaster network Sky 1 and free TV channel BBC Two.

Bob’s Burgers was previously aired in the UK on E4.
