NBC and Keshet strike programming pact
NBC Entertainment and Keshet Studios have inked a first-look programming deal.
The agreement includes a coproduction pact between Universal Television, the TV production arm of NBC, and Keshet Studios, the recently established LA subsidiary of Israeli broadcaster Keshet.
“Keshet International’s proven track record of producing quality programmess across different genres makes them a perfect partner with NBC,” said NBC Entertainment boss Robert Greenblatt. “We’re very much looking forward to finding the right projects that bring out the best in both our companies.”
Keshet’s international division already works with NBC on scripted shows including Dig and Allegiance. Keshet founded its US studio last month, with veteran producer Peter Traugott brought in as president of scripted and Rachel Kaplan as executive VP.
Former Brillstein Entertainment Partners TV president Traugott also previously had a production deal with Universal Television prior to taking the Keshet role.
Jennifer Salke, president, NBC Entertainment, said: “Between Keshet International’s incredible library of IP, access to original voices and Peter’s expertise as a producer and developer, NBC is well positioned for success in partnership with this innovative company.”
