Malaysian net buys Small World, Marble formats
Malaysian broadcaster Media Prima has bought family-themed series Japanizi and game show Splatalot after a pair of deals with Singaporean distributor Bomanbridge Media.
The 40x30mins Japanizi is a version of the David Sidebotham-created format I Survived a Japanese Game Show in which contestants perform wacky tasks associated with Japanese studio shows over three elimination rounds.
Content Television-backed distribution outfit Small World IFT has worldwide rights, and sub-licenses them in Asia to Bomanbridge, which has a similar regional representation agreement with Canada’s Marble Media-owned Distribution 360 for Splatalot.
Media Prima’s Splatalot will run for 52 half-hours. The format – created for Canada’s YTV, the UK’s CBBC and Australia’s ABC3 – is a medieval-themed physical game show for the tween audience.
