Barcroft poaches Zig Zag’s Wyles
Barcroft Productions has hired Zig Zag Productions’ Peter Wyles as director of programmes.
Wyles is moving to the UK prodco, which has recently secured commissions such as Preposterous Pets for Animal Planet and OAPs Behaving Badly for Channel 5.
He had only joined Troy producer Zig Zag as head of development last year after leaving DCD Media-owned September Films. He has also worked at Endemol UK, RDF Media and Channel 5, where he was a commissioning editor.
Before this TV career, Wyles was a trained newspaper journalist for the likes of The Daily Mirror, which mirrors Barcroft’s germination from the world of the UK press.
Barcroft Media and Barcroft Productions CEO Sam Barcroft said Wyles’s “journalistic background and fantastic television production heritage will help us deliver bigger and better, must-watch shows”.
“Having been a print journalist before working in television, it feels like a great fit,” said Wyles. “Barcroft has amazing access to incredible characters and stories and I’m really looking forward to working with Sam and the team.”
