ProSiebenSat.1 chief extends contract
ProSiebenSat.1 Media has extended CEO Thomas Ebeling’s contract through to 2019.
Should he stay in the post until the company AGM in four years’ time, he will have held the top at the Germany-based broadcaster for a decade.
“Since taking office in 2009, Thomas Ebeling has decisively shaped the group’s strategy and, with his colleagues on the executive board, has achieved great success for the company,” said Werner Brandt, chairman of the ProSiebenSat.1 supervisory board.
“He has thus created a long-term growth perspective for ProSiebenSat.1. With the early extension of his contract, the supervisory board is setting the course today for the continuing success of ProSiebenSat.1 with Thomas Ebeling as CEO. We are looking forward to continuing our successful work with Thomas.”
Under Ebeling’s leadership ProSiebenSat.1 has pushed into digital markets through a series of acquisitions, and expanded the firm’s digital business through the creation of the Red Arrow Entertainment group, which now comprises 13 production companies and distribution arm Red Arrow International.
Last year ProSiebenSat.1 posted revenues of €2.88 billion (US$3.2 billion) and underlying net income of €418.9 million – both record numbers for the company.
