The show, commissioned by UK broadcaster ITV, is set in 1827 London and follows a detective hunting a gruesome killer that comes up against the medical and political establishment as a conspiracy around reanimated dead comes to light.
“We are very excited to be adding The Frankenstein Chronicles to our line-up of foreign drama,” said Diane Reynald, head of acquisitions, TV programming for Canal+. “This new series will appeal to our subscribers always keen to discover original programmes.”
The series comes from UK indie Rainmark Films in association with Endemol Shine-backed Far Moor and Agraffe Limited with funding from Northern Ireland Screen.
