Cineflix blocks out Lego doc deal
Cineflix Rights has snagged international rights to The Secret World of Lego, the one-off behind-the-scenes doc about the toy brick company.
The show went out on Channel 4 in the UK earlier this week, winning its slot in 16-to-34s and almost doubling slot average.
It follows a design student as he gets exclusive access to Lego headquarters in Denmark, in pursuit of a job as a designer of the toy firm. The 1x60mins film also follows an already established designer at the company who has risen up the ranks at the toy company.
Kate Laffey, Cineflix Rights’ director of acquisitions picked up the show, which is produced by UK indie Waddell Media, and Cineflix Media’s sales arm will now launch it internationally.
Chris Bonney, CEO of rights, Cineflix Media said: “Lego is one of the world’s biggest brands and is loved by children and adults everywhere. Following its success on Channel 4 in the UK, we are sure it will be a ratings hit for broadcasters all around the world.”
