Nat Geo buys Cindy Crawford eye hospital doc
National Geographic Channels International is among buyers of The Hospital in the Sky, a documentary featuring supermodel Cindy Crawford and about a mobile training hospital.
SBS One in Australia, Choice TV in New Zealand, SIC CARAS in Portugal, BTV in Bulgaria, HRT in Croatia and ABS-CBN in the Philippines have also acquired the 1x60mins documentary.
The film follows Crawford as she showcases the work of US-based charity Orbis International. It follows several visually impared young patients as they travel to the Flying Eye Hospital, which is a converted DC-10 aircraft
The channels bought the show from London-based brand-funded content distributor and strategist Precious, which OMEGA produced.
“The Hospital in the Sky highlights the remarkable work of Orbis International,” said Amanda Williams, account director at Precious. “We’re honoured to have been involved in such a worthwhile project and we’re delighted to announce such an impressive range of broadcasters partners from around the world who have acquired the film.”
