FremantleMedia names Busoli replacement
São Paulo-based FremantleMedia Brazil has hired former TV Bandeirantes exec Paula Cavalcanti to replace Daniela Busoli as its CEO.
Busoli left the FremantleMedia group last month in order to launch her own company.
Cavalcanti (pictured) has now stepped in to replace her, reporting to FremantleMedia COO and CEO of emerging markets Sangeeta Desai.
While production director at Bandeirantes Group, Cavalcanti led production on FremantleMedia Brazil shows such as MasterChef Brazil and Still Standing. She was also production director for SBT and Endemol Brazil, developing and producing local versions of Deal or No Deal.
At FremantleMedia Brazil, she will oversee day-to-day management of the operation, develop and produce broadcaster programming across platforms and work with FremantleMedia global content and licensing teams.
“Paula is a highly experienced and talented creative with strong relationships in the Brazilian market,” said Desai, who was in January named CEO of emerging markets as FremantleMedia increases focus on Latin America and Asia.
“I have no doubt that her passion for programme making and her creative vision will drive our business forward and build our presence in this important market.”
“FremantleMedia has an unparalleled reputation for high quality content producing some of the most engaging and iconic brands in the world. It’s an exciting time to join the company and I look forward to working with the team to create local content and to bring some of FremantleMedia’s leading brands to Brazilian audiences.”
