Keshet strikes comedy format deal

Baker-and-the-Beauty-smallGreek broadcaster Ant1 has ordered a local version of Keshet International-distributed comedy series The Baker and the Beauty.

The broadcaster will produce the 13x45mins Greek version of the show, which will go out in October.

Ioannis Latsios, programming chief at Antenna TV said: “The Baker and the Beauty is thematically consistent with our brand and overall strategy.”

He added: “The story resonates with the emotions of today’s youth and has already found universal appeal.”

The series has proved popular in Israel on Keshet. It follows a relationship between a baker and a world famous model.

The format was created by Assi Azar and produced by Endemol Israel for Keshet Broadcasting.

Keren Shahar, general manager, distribution, Keshet International said, “The Baker and the Beauty is culture clash comedy at its best. It has proven itself very addictive viewing and I know that the Greek version will be a brilliant rendition of this simple and effective concept.”
