Fox hires one, promotes two in Asia

Rohit-D'Silva_HeadFox International Channels has promoted two senior execs at its Asian unit and brought another into the business.

Rohit D’Silva (pictured) has taken the newly-created role of executive VP, commercial, overseeing channel distribution commercial activity across the Asia Pacific and the Middle East regions.

D’Silva is a FIC veteran and has most recently been running the ESPN Star Sports (now Fox) sports channels. He will continue to run the sports unit as well as assuming the new EVP, commercial, responsibilities.

David Shin has also been promoted, to general manager, Japan. He will report to Zubin Gandevia, president of FIC for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, and oversee all of FIC’s activity in the country. He has been upped from head of content.

Gandevia said: “We have a clear vision for our business and having the right talent in key roles is integral to achieving all that we want to achieve. FIC Asia’s leadership team will continue to strengthen and I look forward to taking our business to new heights as a team.”

There is also a new addition to the FIC Asia ranks with Prakash Ramchandani becoming vice president, non-linear products for Hong Kong & Southeast Asia.

In the newly-created role, Ramchandani will oversee non-linear strategy and product development, reporting to Joon Lee. He joins from OTT service Spuul and will be based in Singapore.

Lee said: “Non-linear products are a big part of our future and I’m pleased to have an experienced executive like Prakash onboard to help us drive this area.”
