FremantleMedia staffs up, sells Cash format
FremantleMedia has staffed up its forthcoming game show channel Buzzr, while also selling new format Cash or Splash into two territories.
Following the appointment of Ron Garfield as executive VP and general manager of Buzzr, the net has named Mark Deetjen as VP of programming and operations, Jamie Klein as VP of creative services, Kiesha McCorry as VP of marketing and Marissa Mongiello as VP of traffic.
Deetjen was previously VP, programming at Sony Pictures Television, while Klein worked at the GSN network.
FremantleMedia North America-owned Buzzr is scheduled to launch in 17 Fox markets in the US on June 1.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s MBC and Paraguay’s Telefuturo have acquired local versions of FremantleMedia game show format Cash or Splash.
The show, an amalgamation of Fuji TV shows Lock Hanger, Boxing Glove and Run Quiz Run, sees teams compete for cash prizes by answering questions and completing funny physical tasks.
