CBBC, ABC explore Secret Life of Boys
Pubcasters in the UK and Australia have co-commissioned a live-action interactive drama about an eleven-year-old Aussie girl that spends the summer with her male English cousins.
CBBC and ABC3 have greenlit The Secret Life of Boys, which Zodiak Kids’ newly-renamed production division Zodiak Kids Studios will produce in the UK.
A series of 25 five-minute segments will launch on CBBC and ABC3 online ahead of a 5x30mins linear TV series.
The show was developed as an original comedy by Anthony Q Farrell (American Office), with Zodiak Kids and its head of multiplatform Ben Freeman later coming on board as co-developers.
Zodiak Kids Studios-owned prodco The Foundation will produce. Zodiak Kids, the children’s arm of Zodiak Media, will own international rights.
CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor co-commissioned the show alongside ABC Children’s commissioning editor Chris Rose Foundation’s Steven Andrew is executive producer.
