Viacom names Lat Am top team
Viacom International Media Networks Americas has made three senior appointments across its portfolio of channels.
Headlining is the promotion of Juan ‘JC’ Acosta to COO, based in Miami. The post hands him control of VIMNA’s channels portfolio, which includes MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Paramount Channel and Tr3 in Latin America, Canada and the US Hispanic markets.
He will focus on aligning the brans with the wider VIMN business, improving returns on content investment and have overseeing original production strategy among other duties.
He was previously executive VP, CFO and executive-in-charge of production.
Reporting into him will be Federico Cuervo, who becomes senior VP, entertainment brands, and Tiago Worcman, who has been named SVP, music brands.
Cuervo will oversee Comedy Central and Paramount Channel in Latin America, the latter of which launched in November last year.
Worcman will oversee development and production of MTV programming at a pan-regional level, Tr3s for the US Hispanic market, and VH1 across Latin America.
Cuervo was previously senior VP, production for VIMN Americas and brand manager for Comedy Central Latin America, while Worcman was VP, programming and content and brand manager for MTV Brazil.
“With these moves and with all brands now reporting directly to JC Acosta, we are combining content and commerce to maximise opportunities – strategically, operationally and creatively – to elevate our business and our brands in this dynamic media market,” said Pierluigi Gazzolo, who was named president of VIMNA president in November, having previously been COO of VIMN.
