Beta Film sets a MIP date for 1992

German distributor Beta Film will launch buzzy Italian drama 1992 and Spanish drama hit Under Suspicion at MIPTV.

Political thriller 1992 is an original for Sky in Italy and has been picked up by its pay TV counterparts in the UK and Germany. Beta will be shopping the Wildside-produced doc at the market.

Bambú Producciones-produced Under Suspicion follows events after a seven-year-old girl disappears in a close-knit community. It has performed strongly for Spanish free-to-air broadcaster Antena 3.

Beta also has a pair of new German dramas launching at MIPTV. Amid a wave of buzzy period shows coming out of Germany, it will bring two projects with an historical setting to market.

TV movie Starfighter tells the story of the controversial and dysfunctional German fighter planes. Cold war drama Line of Separation, meanwhile, hails from The Lives of Others producer Wiedemann & Berg and won 7 million viewers for ZDF when it debuted earlier this year.
