YouTube, Seibert set for Junior@MIPTV

The second Junior@MIPTV event on Tuesday, April 14, will feature YouTube’s global head of family and learning and animation veteran Fred Seibert.

Screen Shot 2015-03-31 at 15.20.48Malik Ducard, who is overseeing the launch of the YouTube Kids app, will appear at the event’s Future of Kids TV Summit.

Seibert, the last president of Hanna-Barbera Cartoons will also appear alongside Outfit7 Brit managing director Paul Nunn and controller of children’s content for the ABC Deidre Brennan. In all, 100 decision-making executives are expected at the event.

Junior@MIPTV includes showcases from broadcasters and platforms, off-stage events and match-making sessions.

There will be two conference sessions, The Kids’ Channels Talk and Playing the Digital Transformation, while a new feature is the first Kids Public Broadcasting Breakfast, which kicks off the event.

AwesomenessTV founder Brian Robbins and vlogger Meg DeAngelis take to the stage the following day at the first-ever MIP Digital Screenings for kids programmes.

“Junior@MIPTV will outline what the expectations of today’s kids are, and explore how both linear broadcasters and online platforms can grab young viewers’ attention,” said Laurine Garaude, director of MIPTV organiser Reed MIDEM’s television division.

Junior@MIPTV is spun out of MIPCOM’s MIPJunior event in October.
