Lion TV restructures along genre lines
All3Media-owned UK producer Lion Television has created three new post as part of restructure aimed at growing investment in staff and programme development.
Donna Clark (left), Simon Welton and Bill Locke will all take on increased responsibility as part of the changes, overseeing factual, entertainment and specialist factual, respectively, while working closely with management on domestic and international strategic development.
Clark, who has been with Lion for six years and has worked on formats such as BBC Three’s Young Soldiers and Channel 4’s Sixteen Kids and Counting, becomes director of factual.
Welton, who has create shows such as BBC Three comedy prosthetics format Sexy Beasts since joining Lion in 2008, has been named director of entertainment.
Locke, meanwhile, becomes director of specialist factual, having previously been head of history and special projects. He has previously overseen projects such as C4, PBS Nova and Arte coproduction Secrets of the Terracotta Army.
“This restructure is the latest move to further strengthen our senior teams, enabling us to consolidate our core strengths, build on our diverse programming slate and expand the business at our established bases in London, Glasgow and New York,” said Lion co-managing directors Nick Catliff, Shahana Meer and Richard Bradley in a statement.
The news comes a montht after the Glasgow office, Lion Scotland, promoted Lisa Hazlehurst to become its new head.
