Electus strikes Bellator MMA deals
Electus International has secured new deals for the Bellator mixed martial arts championship with international channels.
US-based Electus took on distribution of the Bellator MMA rights at the start of the year and has now struck TV rights deals with Network Ten in Australia, RTL9 in France, Discovery in Italy, 15TV in Spain, Fight Channel in Croatia and SIC in Portugal.
Up and coming MMA fight league Bellator appointed fight promoter Scott Coker president last year and is keen, with Electus, to expand its international reach.
Electus said it has also renewed Bellator rights deals with Celestial Tiger in Asia and NC+ in Poland.
“Bellator has made record-breaking strides, establishing itself as an elite MMA promotion with an expansive global audience and we’re thrilled to bring it to viewers and fans worldwide,” said John Pollak, president of Electus International.
In the US, Viacom-owned cable net Spike televises Bellator bouts. Viacom owns the championship and brand.
