Hopster strikes DreamWorks deal, preps launches

Hopster has struck a programming deal with DreamWorks and is about to launch on Android.

The kids OTT service is currently available in the UK and Ireland, but has picked up multi-territory right to the DreamWorks fare and, following a successful funding round, is expected to roll out in new territories in the first half of this year.

The preschool-focused service has picked up a seven-title package of series from DreamWorks including Postman Pat, Rupert Bear and Noddy in Toyland. They will start rolling out in early April on Hopster.

The new titles will sit alongside existing Hopster titles including Paddington Bear, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, and 64 Zoo Lane.

Hopster also confirmed an impending Android launch. It is currently available, for £3.99 (US$6.13) a month, on Panasonic and Samsung connected TVs, mobile operator EE’s IPTV service and free-to-air satellite platform Freesat.It is also already available on iOS devices.
