Shorts channel launches 2015 Oscars shorts
The ShortsHD channel will release the 2015 Oscar-nominated shorts ahead of the Academy Awards this Sunday (February 22) on cable, VOD and EST platforms.
In the US the shorts will be available on demand after Shorts agreed a deal with VOD specialist In Demand. They will also be available via iTunes, Amazon and Vimeo.
“The short film nominees this year come from some of the most diverse backgrounds of any similar group of Academy nominees, which is reflected in the richness and diversity of their storytelling,” said Carter Pilcher, chief executive at ShortsHD. “We are proud to bring them to the cable systems, VOD, EST and the all of the leading digital platforms.”
The projects that will be screened via Shorts include Franco-Israeli project Aya, UK-produced Boogaloo and Graham, Chinese-language project Butter Lamp (La Lampe au Beurre de Yak) and US-originated The Dam Keeper.
