RTL5 channel chief exiting for new role
Netherlands-based RTL5 will get a new channel chief this year, with incumbent Paul Cormont moving to a new role within RTL Nederlands.
Werner van Es, the current channel scheduler, is stepping in to replace Cormont (pictured), who is to oversee development of programmes for RTL Nederlands channels such as RTL4.
The switchover is planned to take place on September 1.
RTL Nederlands general programme director Erland Galjaard said Cormont had helped free-to-air net RTL5 become a “mature channel for young people”, and added the company was pleased to have kept him within the group.
Van Es has been with RTL for 12 years, and his promotion was part of an “active policy in coaching and internal growth”, said Galjaard.
