ProSieben MAXX bags BBCWW Beckham doc
Male-skewed German free-to-air channel ProSieben MAXX has bagged 420 hours of BBC Worldwide programming, including travelogue documentary David Beckham: Into the Unknown.
The programming will run as MAXX’s BBC Earth-branded block in both daytime and primetime slots, and also include a new season of factual show Life Below Zero and new episodes of Ben Fogle-starring Where the Wild Men Are.
The BBCWW shows will all be available for seven days after their linear broadcast free of charge via ProSieben MAXX’s website.
“BBC Worldwide has accompanied ProSieben MAXX as a reliable brand partner from the very beginning,” said ProSieben MAXX’s head René Carl. “Programmes acquired from BBC Worldwide play an important role in supporting the station’s strong growth.
“By extending the partnership, ProSieben MAXX is ensuring that it will have access to a wide variety of spectacular, new, and high-quality programmes as German broadcast premieres.”
BBCWW’s director of German-speaking Europe, Isabelle Helle added: “High-quality British programming continues to have strong appeal in Germany.”
