US prodco launches food programming unit
US indie prodco Jane Street Entertainment has launched YUM, a division dedicated to developing and producing food programming.
It will work up food-centric culinary, lifestyle and travel content and be run by executive producers Vivian Sorenson (Chopped) and Kate Kenny (Guy’s Grocery Games).
Jane Street’s food credits include Sweet Genius, Rachael v. Guy, Kitchen Casino, Pressure Cooker, Cook Your Ass Off, Late Night Food Brawl, Cook Like A Pro, Deep Fried Masters, and The Grill of Victory.
Non-food related projects will remain under the larger Jane Street banner.
The prodco’s cofounder Linda Lea said: “Kate (pictured right), Vivian (top left) and I built Chopped together and look forward to developing another break-out hit. We have deep, trusting relationships in the food business. We love what we do and we want to keep growing in this space.”
