Pop Monkey’s Kicked to the Kerb with ohm:tv
German-based distributor ohm:tv has picked up selected international rights to Kicked to the Kerb, the dating series from formats company Pop Monkey.
The agreement gives ohm rights to the show in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, the Benelux, Italy, Turkey and Scandinavia.
The dating format has singletons take a cab ride to a mystery destination, stopping along the way to meet potential partners. With more possible dates to be picked up en route, the person taking the cab ride must then choose whether to stop and let in the new passenger, or ignore them and carry on with their current suitor.
Hugh Wright, Pop Monkey’s vice president of business development said: “Kicked To The Kerb mixes a new and fun location for a dating show with a cheeky quiz. It’s a terrific format, perfect for strips that we think will really appeal to younger viewers.”
LA and London-based Pop Monkey was founded in 2010 by Syd Vinnedge, Hugh Wright, Chuck Thomas and Simone Thorogood.
