UNI names global marketing chief
NBCUniversal’s global channels arm, Universal Networks International, has named Nicoletta Gelli to the new post of senior vice-president, marketing.
Gelli, who will report to Lee Raftery, executive VP, marketing and communications, NBCUniversal International, will be based in London and will head up marketing and digital activity for all pay TV channels globally.
Her remit includes Universal Channel, Syfy, 13th Street, Studio Universal, E! Entertainment Television, Diva and Telemundo.
Gelli previously headed Brand Compass, a brand consultancy she started in 2011, handling strategic projects for a variety of clients including Turner Broadcasting System, Discovery and MBC. She has also worked as vice-president of brand marketing at Disney Channels.
“Gelli is a key appointment to Universal Networks International’s leadership team. Her extensive experience in driving the performance of a range of channels’ portfolios – via commercial savvy and innovative marketing – will be a tremendous asset to UNI as we invest in the on-going growth of our channels’ business,” said Raftery.
“I have long admired Universal Networks International’s strong portfolio of brands. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to join the UNI team as the business continues its razor-sharp focus on strengthening the performance of its channels around the globe,” said Gelli.
