News brief: Acorn buys Secret State, Kath & Kim
British-focused North American streaming service Acorn TV has bought six series, including political thriller Secret State and Australian comedy Kath & Kim.
The other titles are comedy drama The Man Who Lost His Head, investigative drama The Blue Rose, controversial comedy London Irish and doc show The Rise of the Nazi Party.
Acorn, distributed through an iTunes App, a dedicated website and via a Roku channel, already runs British series such as Agatha Christie’s Poirot, The Field of Blood, Midsomer Murders and George Gently.
