Fledgling UK indie gets C4 commission
Recently-formed UK indie Voltage TV has won its first commission, The British Property Boom, a one-off doc about the UK housing market.
The show has been commissioned by commercial free-to-air broadcaster Channel 4.
Billed as an interactive doc, The British Property Boom looks at the winners and losers in the housing market, against a backdrop of huge increases in property prices in the UK, notably in the capital, London, and south east of the country.
Voltage is the prodco formed by Sanjay Singhal (pictured) and Steve Nam, who previously ran Shine-owned producer Dragonfly. Launching last September, it said it had development deals with the BBC and Channel 4 and a distribution deal with BBC Worldwide.
Singhal says: “It’s been an exciting first year for Voltage TV. We’ve pulled together a great team of talent across development and production with a raft of new commissions and hirings to be announced soon.”
