Discovery Communications is set to relaunch its Discovery HD Showcase channel in Europe, the Middle East and Africa on December 1.
The network, which airs in more than 120 markets across EMEA – including Poland, Russia, Benelux and Portugal – will change its name to Discovery Showcase HD.
It will also get a new logo, on-air look and an “enriched” programming line-up that will include exclusive content as well as a combination of shows from Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Science and now for the first time TLC, ID and ID Xtra.
“I am convinced that audiences with an appetite for diverse, high quality factual programming and a passion for unmatched clarity of image and sound, will find themselves at home on the new Discovery Showcase HD,” said Unai Iparragirre, director of passion brands, Discovery Networks, EMEA.
Discover said that its new on-air look for the channel will help viewers recognise where the programme they are watching is from, whether it be Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Science, TLC, ID and ID Xtra or if it is an exclusive that can only be watched on Discovery Showcase HD.
