Zodiak hires Nordic World sales exec

Nordic World is saying goodbye to another sales executive following the departure of Patty Geneste.

Zodiak Rights has poached Ole Steen Stolberg as VP, sales for Scandinavia, having previously been sales and acquisitions director for TV4 Group and TV2 Norway-owned distributor Nordic World.

This comes after TBI revealed Geneste was exiting Nordic World just weeks after the company acquired her Netherlands-based formats firm, Absolutely Independent, over a disagreement about the future of the companies.

Stolberg will joins Zodiak Media’s sales arm in January, and be based within subsidiary producer Mastiff Denmark’s offices in Copenhagen.

The move marks the first time Zodiak Rights will have a sales base in Scandinavia.

Stolberg has worked at companies such as C More Entertainment AB, Nordic World parent TV4 in Sweden, TV2 in Denmark and the Danish Film Institute.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Ole on board for the New Year,” said Tim Mutimer, who recently replaced Steve Macallister as CEO of Zodiak Rights.

“This role allows us to give real focus to the key Scandinavia region and also means that we can increase our activity selling locally produced shows from the Zodiak Media Group within the region.”
