Starz to launch new drama on-demand ahead of linear

US premium cabler Starz will launch episodes of its new drama series The Missing on its TV Everywhere service ahead of its linear channel.

Episodes of the drama, a coproduction between Starz, UK pubcaster the BBC and UK prodco New Pictures, will roll out on Starz Play a week ahead of the regular Starz channel.

The digital launch for the eight-part series will take place on November 8 and the linear launch will follow a week later.

The Starz series, about a man searching for his young son who goes missing on a family holiday, will also launch on Starz’ YouTube channel and Starz On Demand as well as the Starz Play app.

New Pictures is backed by All3Media International, which distributes the series internationally. It has shopped it to buyers including TF1.
