TVN and T-Mobile Polska to launch SVOD
Polish broadcast group TVN has partnered with telecoms provider T-Mobile Polska to jointly launch a new subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service for new and existing T-Mobile residential customers.
The SVOD service will be called T-Mobile Zone and willlaunch “in the near future” as part of TVN’s existing video-on-demand Player service.
T-Mobile Zone within Player will feature, for the first time, programmes aired live from TVN’s flagship free-to-air network, TVN.
The service will also offer a selection of live TV channels, TV series and Polish and foreign feature films – including Hollywood titles.
Commenting on the partnership, Grzegorz Bors, chief commercial officer of private markets at T-Mobile Polska, said that partnerships are one of the pillars of the T-Mobile Polska strategy, and that the TVN deal will open the door to mobile entertainment for its customers.
TVN president and CEO Markus Tellenbach added: “TVN Player, with over 800,000 registered users, has established itself as the leading Polish source for online video entertainment and expands with Player for T-Mobile customers the scope of its service by offering popular Hollywood content as well as a special offer for children and access to live TV on a SVOD basis”.
TVN rebranded its online video service from TVNplayer.pl to Player.pl earlier this year and now offers TVN shows as well as other content such as children’s programmes and American TV series like Spartacus and Magic City through the service.
