CBS launching US retro net

CBS and station group Weigel Broadcasting are launching a US digital net, Decades, which will be programmed with classic shows and TV movies from the CBS library.

The new local and digital net will roll out in 2Q15. Classic titles that will appear on the new net include Cheers, Star Trek, Happy Days and I Love Lucy.

There will also be content from the CBS News and Entertainment Tonight archives and a daily show, Decades Retrospectical, looking at events from a particular day or moment in history. The schedule will then be themed around the events of the period in focus.

The channel will roll out on 16 of CBS Television Station Group’s stations at launch.
