ORF does roaring MIPCOM trade
Franco-German cultural channel Arte prebuying wildlife documentary Lionsrock top lined a number of deals the commercial arm of Austria’s ORF landed at MIPCOM.
Other agreements for ORF Enterprises include Tele-Quebec and SRC in Canada picking up Planet Sparrow and Triumph of the Tomato.
Africa’s Wild West – The Horses of the Namib Desert has gone to National Geographic’s international channels, while the US Nat Geo counterpart has taken Secrets of Bumblebees. Arte, France’s Ushuaia TV and Tele-Quebec also took Bumblebees.
European broadcaster MTG and Qatari channel Q2/QTV have committed to The Wildlife Orphanage, while US prodco Intrigue has picked up format rights to scripted series Braunschlag. Another scripted comedy format, Cracking the Jackpot, which runs on Germany’s WDR, is soon to launch on Belgium’s VTM.
A further deal sees Swiss broadcaster SRF producing a pilot based on ORF political format Where to, Mr President?.
