Walking Dead renewed again
AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama The Walking Dead has been renewed for a sixth season.
This comes days ahead of the season five launch, which will likely again deliver huge ratings to US cable channel AMC.
The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors in a world dominated by mindless zombies and crazed humans. It is highest-rating non-sports broadcast in cable history.
The finale of season four signed off with 15.7 million viewers, though this is not the largest number it has recorded. That distinction goes to the season four premiere, which took with 16.1 million.
Circle of Confusion, Darkwood Productions, Valhalla Motion Pictures and AMC;s production arm, AMC Studios, coproduce the show. Season five debuts on Monday (October 12) in the US, before launching on Fox International Channels networks in 125 territories a day later.
