ITV hitched to Bridezillas for new channel
UK broadcaster ITV has acquired Bridezillas and spin-off series Marriage Boot Camp for its new lifestyle channel ITVBe.
The new young female-skewing channel launches on October 8 and the DCD-distributed shows will be part of its launch line-up.
Both Bridezillas and Marriage Boot Camp (pictured) are both on female-skewed cable channel WeTV in the US.
ITV has picked up series 8 to 10 of September Films-produced Bridezillas and series 1 and 2 of Marriage Boot Camp, which is made by ITV-owned US indie ThinkFactory and September Films.
ITV’s head of acquired series Sasha Breslau did the deals for the shows. She said: “These two series are just the right fit for our new channel, which will be the go to spot for brilliant and entertaining programmes featuring real lives, and big characters.”
WeTV has run ten series of Bridezillas, but has said it will not greenlight more runs of the show. Spin-off, Marriage Boot Camp, launched internationally last year and has been picked up by Australia’s Foxtel.
