Horror Channel snags remastered Doctor Who
The Horror Channel in the UK has acquired a batch of remastered classic episodes of sci-fi series Doctor Who.
The BBC-produced series is distributed by BBC Worldwide, which struck the deal with the UK pay TV channel, which is now part of the AMC Networks stable.
The channel acquired several classic seasons of the show earlier this year, scheduling them in a ‘Who on Horror’ season that has claimed 3.8 million cumulative viewers since starting in April.
The seventeen new episodes will start going out on the channel next month marking the first time the remastered instalments of the show have been seen on TV. BBC Worldwide released them on DVD last year.
Episodes of the long-running series covered in the new deal include ‘Inferno’, ‘Carnival of Monsters’, ‘The Time Warrior’ and ‘The Sontaran Experiment’.
