The inaugural market will take place 19-21 of November and be situated in the JW Marriott Cancun Hotel, in the Mexican city.
Reed MIDEM said that acquisition execs from 15 Latin countries, representing 40 channels, will attend the market, to meet with about 40 distributors across the scripted, unscripted, factual and kids TV sectors.
Announcing the new market, Reed MIDEM said: “MIP Cancun offers an intimate environment for buyers and content producers/distributors to develop new relations, network, and strike new programming and co-production deals for the dynamic Lat Am TV market.”
As well as hosting the new Lat Am market, Mexico will be the country of honour at this year’s MIPCOM.
Laurine Garaude (pictured), director of Reed MIDEM’s television division said: “There is increasing interest in the Latin American television market and Reed MIDEM is committed to servicing the needs of international companies looking to do business with their Latin American counterparts.”
