BOOM! Studios lands Fox first-look deal
Comic book publisher BOOM! Studios has entered into a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox Television.
This hands the 21st Century Fox-owned US studio the opportunity to adapt original properties from BOOM!’s various imprints, which include Archadia, BOOM! Box and kaBOOM! for TV and cable channels.
Fox’s film studio already has a similar agreement with BOOM!, while the TV agreement will lead to an development executive hire to look after the partnership.
LA-based BOOM! Studios, founded in 2005 is behind comics such Adventure Time, which is based on the kids TV show for Cartoon Network, and 2 Guns, which was developed into a feature film of the same name.
Fox and BOOM! have already worked adapt comic Unthinkable into production as a put pilot, with Homeland’s Howard Gordon also attached.
