Spanish net calls in Warner’s Cowboy Builders
Spain’s Atresmedia has commissioned its own version of Warner Bros. International Television Production format Cowboy Builders.
The show follows a pair of presenters that work to save homes wrecked by rogue builders, tracking down the culprit while fixing up the damaged house.
Eyeworks, which WBITVP recently acquired for €200 million (US$267.2 million), will produce the show.
The deal marks WBITVP’s fifth for the format, coming after remakes in the US, Belgium, France and Sweden. Warner-owned Ricochet created the format for Channel 5, where it has run for nine seasons from 2009.
“This programme is a format that fits very well in Atresmedia’s entertainment catalogue,” said Atresmedia Television Entertainment’s programme director Carmen Ferreiro. “It presents a perfect combination of helping people solve their problems whilst at the same time fighting back against corrupt behaviour.”
