Fox Channels gets The Taste
Fox International Channels has acquired cooking competition series The Taste across a swathe of Latin American territories.
The Latin arm of FIC has acquired the US version of the show from Red Arrow International. The show was created by Kinetic Content, part of the Red Arrow group, and airs on broadcast net ABC in the US where it is in its third season.
The show will start airing on FIC’s channels throughout Latin America this week. It said it will go out in over 50 territories in the region.
The cooking competition show has judges – including Antony Bourdain and Nigella Lawson in the US version (pictured) – seek out the next super-chef. A local version also airs on the Sat.1 channel in Germany.
Chinese state broadcaster CCTV has also ordered a version of The Taste as has M6 in France. RTL4 in the Netherlands and VTM in Belgium have also acquired format rights
Buyers of the ABC version include Canada’s CTV and Brazil’s Globosat.
