Turkey’s Star orders hairdresser format
Turkish broadcaster Star TV has ordered a local version of hairdressing competition format The Final Cut Down.
The Armoza-distributed format was launched at MIP and challenges five hairdressers to give random passers by a new look. The show is stripped and takes place in a new city each week.
The Turkish version of the show, Benim Kuaförüm, will start this month. Production House is making the local version, which will stretch to an initial thirty episodes.
Pelin Doğru, acquisitions director of Star TV said: “Benim Kuaförüm is a very fun and enjoyable show to watch, and at Star TV we believe that it will be a success amongst its competitors as the perfect smooth transition to prime time.”
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats added: “Daily stripped formats are a big need in the market, and The Final Cut Down addresses this need with a colourful and character-driven format that targets the very important day-time female audience.”
