Meisner Eagle swoops for Discovery Life role
Julie Meisner Eagle has been promoted to VP, production and development at Discovery Fit & Health, which becomes Discovery Life Channel in January.
The role will see Meisner Eagle taking a key role at the new channel, operating out of Discovery Communications’ Silver Spring headquarters and reporting to Discovery Fit & Health general manager Jane Latman.
Meisner Eagle joined Discovery in 2009 at female-skewed TLC, where she executive produced series such as Sister Wives, Say Yes to the Dress and Strange Sex. She moved to Discovery Channel in 2013.
She joins ahead of the Discovery Life Channel rebrand on January 15, 2015. It will take some of Discovery Fit & Health’s medical- and health programming and combine them with shows that feature “ordinary people in extraordinary situations”.
“We were looking for the best creative in the business to rejuvenate this brand, and the ingenuity, boldness and clear vision that Julie brings is a perfect fit for Discovery Life Channel,” said Latman.
