Former BBCWW formats boss resurfaces at Passion

Passion Distribution has hired Elin Thomas as global head of sales.

Thomas was in charge of format sales at BBC Worldwide, but chose to exit commercial arm of the UK pubcaster earlier this year in the wake of an internal reorganisation.

At UK-based distributor Passion she takes the newly-created role of global head of sales, reporting to company CEO Sally Miles. She will oversee finished programming and format sales and run the Passion sales team.

Thomas was at Worldwide for 18 years and was director of global formats when she left earlier this year, working across formats including Dancing with the Stars and Bake Off.

Miles said: “Elin’s experience and expertise will be invaluable in helping to grow our formats business and in supporting the rest of the Passion team.”

Passion is part of the UK-based Tinopolis production and distribution group.
