Ex-MGM boss Hendry joins Rainmaker board
The former senior executive VP of television operations at LA studio MGM has joined the board of Canadian animation producer Rainmaker Entertainment.
Steve Hendry will join a board that also comprises Tim McElvaine, Craig Graham, Jeff Sackman and Patrick Ryan.
While at MGM, Hendry was responsible for financial operations, forecasting, planning and analysis for the TV ops division, which encompassed television and digital distribution, production and worldwide channels.
He is also credited with playing a significant role in corporate restructuring at the studio between 2005 and 2010.
Rainmaker is renewing its focus on television after coming close to selling its animation division to a Chinese buyer in 2012. Last year, it launched new TV development division Mainframe Entertainment, and is now working on a new version of the ReBoot animated series and new episodes of Bob the Builder with Hit Entertainment.
“Steve’s background in the entertainment industry and wealth of financial knowledge are of tremendous value to Rainmaker, particularly as we expand our focus beyond work for hire projects towards developing our own intellectual property, as well as building our slate of television content under our Mainframe Entertainment division,” said Graham, who is CEO.
